The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) through the General Directorate of Mining Environmental Affairs (DGAAM) granted environmental certification to 15 mining exploration projects that represent an investment of US$ 92.7 million, which will allow companies to continue with the process. of the mining cycle, energizing the regional and local economy, promoting the sustainability of mining activity.

Among the projects, the modification through the Sustaining Technical Report (ITS) of the Semi-Detailed Environmental Impact Study (EIASd) of the Tambomayo exploration project in Arequipa, of Compañía de Minas Buenaventura for US$ 21 million, stands out. The modification of the EIASd of the Galeno exploration project in Cajamarca, of Lumina Copper for US$ 10 million.

Likewise, the modification of the Environmental Impact Statement (DIA) of the Pucasalla project in Lima -Ica, of Nexa Resources Perú for US$ 9 million; the modification of the Environmental Impact Statement (DIA) of the Azulmina project in Ancash, by Nexa Resources Peru for US$ 7 million, and the EIA of the Huilacollo project in Tacna, by Vale Exploration for US$ 7 million.

Certifications have also been granted for the following exploration projects: San Martin (San Martin), Alpamarca (Pasco), Huatana (Huancavelica), Azulccacca (Apurímac), Tassa (Moquegua), Bordebamba (Apurímac), El Carmen (Ica), Piedra Grande (La Libertad), Baths of the Indian II (Tacna) and Alto Dorado (La Libertad).

Exploration is constituted as a fundamental piece for the development of mining activity, allowing not only the capture of significant sums of national and foreign investment, but also the discovery of new deposits; as well as, extend the useful life of the mining units that are already in operation.
