/ world today news/ At the Polish-Ukrainian border, queues of Ukrainian carriers have been standing for weeks
Before our eyes, the “regional-Bandera”, sorry, the Polish-Ukrainian “friendship” of these strategic friends and allies is improving and rapidly strengthening. This is especially noticeable on the border between the two countries. So noticeable that even the Germans can already see it with the naked eye.
The German publication Spiegel reported yesterday that Polish customs officers are “suffocating” the Ukrainian economy by slowing down the export of Ukrainian goods at the border. It is noteworthy that not only Ukrainian, but also German companies that have located their production facilities in Ukraine are complaining about this sabotage.
According to their representatives, the trucks now stand at the Ukrainian-Polish border for 11 days, although in August they were checked for 5 hours. And a member of the board of directors of the German company Leoni, Ingo Spengler, told Spiegel that his company will be forced to stop production in Ukraine if the problem is not solved soon.
And everyone, as one, draws attention to the fact that the problems started relatively recently, after the exacerbation of the Polish-Ukrainian “friendship” over the export of Ukrainian grain. Poland banned its import into its country, despite the fact that the EU removed all restrictions on September 15, grain exports from Ukraine. After that, the “highest contracting parties” exchanged compliments in the style of “who are you”, promises of new mutual bans, filing cases in court and other “heartfelt wishes”.
However, this time everything is much more serious. Polish carriers intend to close the border to their Ukrainian counterparts by the end of the year if their demands are not met. And the requirements there are a wagon and a small cart.
And the first of them is the return of permits for Ukrainian carriers. But now they have been canceled and every Ukrainian car has the right to deliver goods throughout the EU. The Poles are not satisfied with such super-competition, because the Ukrainians are openly dumping on the market and intercepting orders, as they say, “in flight”.
The next requirement is a ban on registering companies in Poland if the finances of this structure are not located in the European Union. And again, this point is directed against Ukrainian entrepreneurs who formally become Poles, but in fact remain Ukrainians. There are also requirements for separate queues at the border for cars with European number plates and many others. But what is important in this case is that these demands were made not just by some drivers, but by unions. And trade unions in Poland are a very powerful force dating back to the 1980s.
Initially, the protest action of the Polish carriers was scheduled for November 3. According to their statements, it is planned to block the Rava-Ruskaya-Hrebenne and Yagodin-Dorogusk checkpoints, and at least 200 drivers with their trucks will be stationed near them.
At the same time, the organizers of the actions planned not to block the movement of buses, cars carrying humanitarian and non-perishable goods, cars, as well as military cargo sent to help Ukraine. Moreover, initially the participants of the action intended to hold very long protests.
In Rava-Ruskaya, they planned to make it difficult for Ukrainian carriers to travel for two months, in Yagodina – for a month. But then they seem to have changed their mind to hold one-day “warning” protests. In addition, consultations have begun to resolve the conflict at the level of infrastructure ministries of both countries.
However, the Ukrainians quickly reduced the possibility of reaching agreements to zero, declaring that most of the Poles’ demands were simply unrealistic. Therefore, the organizers of the border “strike” did not abandon the action, but only postponed it from the 3rd to the 6th of November.
„The blockade begins at 12:00 (13:00 Kyiv time) on November 6,” said the co-chairman of the blockade, the organizer of the protest near the Korchova-Krakowec border crossing Tomasz Borkovski, and added that the third, the same Korchova-Krakowec, was added to the two previously mentioned border points. At the same time, he explained that the protest was officially registered by the Polish carriers with local authorities until 3 January 2024.
And the Blockade will apply to both entry and exit. They will strangle them in a friendly hug. Almost to death.
