On the verge of tears, deputy Gerardo Fernández Noroña said goodbye this April 30 to the Chamber of Deputies and his seat 24, on the occasion of the Conclusion of the Second Period of Ordinary Sessions of the Third Year of Exercise of the LXV Legislature.
On the platform, the Labor Party deputy expressed that he finished his cycle in San Lázaro and even joked: “It seemed like I was left for the inventory, but no, destiny decided another personal path towards me.”
Before the deputies, Fernández Noroña thanked his parliamentary group and mentioned that despite tensions and “the hardness” of the debates with legislators from other parties, “we have always known how to get the job done.” He also recognized his colleagues from other parliamentary groups.
Fernández Noroña, a member of Claudia Sheinbaum’s presidential campaign, recalled her time in the opposition and made reference to the June 2 elections by pointing out that “the people of Mexico will determine the destinies of the Nation.”

Calling to respect the dignity of every human being, and taking water and air to avoid crying, Fernández Noroña said goodbye to the Chamber of Deputies amid applause from her colleagues.
“I am not going to change, I will always be as I am, I will always defend my convictions with all firmness and with all energy, with all freedom, but no one has any doubt that when any person, no matter how tough an opponent, no matter how terrible they have behaved, On a personal level, if you are in a situation of injustice or difficulty, you will always have my solidarity and my support because I believe that we are committed to, by example, demonstrating our humanism, our solidarity, our commitment and our dedication.
“We owe ourselves equally to all the people and we serve all the people equally. I say goodbye, I say goodbye not without emotion. I have lived perhaps, no, I have not lived perhaps, I do not qualify it. I have lived the best moments of my political career here, in this place, I appreciate it, a hug,” he expressed.
