The Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, affirmed, Monday in the House of Representatives, that Morocco has succeeded in establishing a model of social dialogue which has been acclaimed internationally.
In response to oral questions on “social dialogue”, Mr. Sekkouri indicated that the Director General of the International Labor Organization (ILO) will visit Morocco next week to celebrate with Moroccan workers the achievements made. by the Kingdom, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
The social dialogue, he continued, took place in a difficult context, noting that the challenges linked to this dialogue consisted of knowing how to mobilize financial resources from the State Budget to direct them for the benefit of the categories vulnerable social groups.
The minister also highlighted the agreement signed on Monday in Rabat between the government, trade union centers and professional associations and organizations, as part of the April round of social dialogue.
These measures, “carefully programmed to be in line with available resources”, reflect an important and fundamental orientation, underlined Mr. Sekkouri, noting that all the most representative unions partners of social dialogue “have expressed their satisfaction” and their positions reflected “a positive climate”.
Furthermore, the decisions of this agreement from the April round of social dialogue consist of initiating necessary substantial reforms, such as the development of the organic law relating to the conditions and modalities of the exercise of the right to strike, a- he indicated. “Since independence, the organic law on the right to strike has never seen the light of day, and it has been in Parliament since October 2016 due to non-compliance with the methodology of social dialogue with social stakeholders,” said Mr. Sekkouri. The government, he maintained, ensured compliance with this methodology to reach a consensus “in order to adopt an organic law, which is of great importance in all developed countries”, and whose approval is planned during the current spring session.
Regarding pension plans, the minister stressed that the gains will be preserved until this reform is initiated during the government mandate.
