The leadership staff of Harilaou Trikoupis is redefining its tactics, seeing that the poll data is now working like a vice, showing that it has not even acquired the pre-election momentum of a party that claims for itself even a noticeable increase in relation to the national elections. The role of PASOK’s self-promotion as… waiting for a second political force has been downgraded but not lost.
The president of PASOK – KINAL Nikos Androulakis is heading towards the European elections between allies, having to face on the one hand the ND of Kyriakos Mitsotakis – and on the side or as a substitute the Democrats of Andreas Loverdos – and on the other hand the SYRIZA of Stefanos Kasselakis. Thus, it reverses its targeting, practically to attract voters, apart from constantly appearing on the channels.
Without leaving the Attic basin and Thessaloniki, he makes… zoom tours in regions of the region (after Preveza and western Greece, the Aegean islands and Crete will follow).
Fourth and sweaty
As was already seen in the national elections, the urban centers – in all the electoral districts of Attica except the Eastern one, they were in fourth place, as in the first of Thessaloniki – and the foreign ballot box (fifth place) is not PASOK’s trump card. No matter if he has put ten people from Thessaloniki on the European ballot as candidates for MEPs, no matter if the president of PASOK chose to be elected as a member of parliament there… He is fighting in Attica and the heart of the north, but he is slipping in polls.
On the contrary, PASOK traditionally has better electoral results in the region. Thus, N. Androulakis reverses his pre-election mobility and seeks to double and triple the votes in the district in order to balance out the urban stagnation, which, however, the leadership staff of Harilaou Trikoupis considers reversible.
The opposition agenda
At the same time, N. Androulakis raises again the… center-left turns of anti-government criticism with heavy fire against the prime minister, whom he accuses of arrogance and intemperance, raises issues of the rule of law, brings to the fore issues such as wiretapping, judicial map – European Public Prosecutor’s Office etc. and tries to cultivate hope for political change. At the same time, it does not stop investing in the profile of a serious and reliable political force, waiting for the world to evaluate it.
However, N. Androulakis does not miss an opportunity to position himself next to or against SYRIZA, reducing the head of Koumoundourou more politically now after the negative criticism for the trolling he attempted with the entertainer etc. It also prioritizes political anti-fascist action, with plenty of jabs at parties that “turn a blind eye” to the far right or its votes.
