The ultra-Catholic group Make yourself heard filed a complaint this Friday against Begoña Gomezthe wife of the president of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchezfor influence peddling, in the same court of Madrid that accepted the lawsuit presented this week by the self-proclaimed far-right union Clean hands.
Hazte Oír is an organization that put transphobic buses into circulation in Spain, others characterizing Sánchez as a Adolf Hitlerbus shelters denying gender violence, the same one that sent fetus dolls to deputies during the processing of the abortion law and the one that promotes harassment in front of abortion clinics.
Today he filed the complaint against Begoña Gómez to expand the one processed by Manos Cleans and what is foreseeable is that the judge Juan Carlos Peinadowho admitted the self-proclaimed union’s demand, added it to the procedure it had opened.
As in the case of this complaint, the complaint is based on alleged facts “published by numerous media outlets, and except for errors on this part, they have not been denied.”
But, unlike that of Clean Hands, it does break down what these media outlets publish and constructs a story of events that, in its opinion, constitute a crime of influence peddling.
The document presented by Manos Cleans indicated that, taking advantage of her condition, Begoña Gómez would have recommended or endorsed with her signature businessmen who bid for public tenders.
It also indicated that one of the businessmen who was awarded tenders worth 10 million euros later organized a master’s degree directed by Sánchez’s wife at the Africa Centerfrom the Instituto de Empresa study center.
According to Manos Cleans, the Spanish airline Air Europa “agreed to pay 40,000 euros per year to the defendant’s Africa Center” and that “the agreement between Globalia (owner of the airline) and the Instituto de Empresa included the delivery of 15,000 euros per year in first class flights for the defendant and her equipment”.
The new complaint comes after the Madrid Provincial Prosecutor’s Office requested yesterday that the investigation opened against Sánchez’s wife be archived, considering that it does not provide any evidence that justifies the opening of a criminal case.
This controversy surrounding Begoña Gómez caused Sánchez to announce last Wednesday that he was canceling his agenda for five days to reflect on whether or not to continue leading the Executive, a decision that he will communicate next Monday the 29th.
Since then, the President of the Government has received the full support of the Socialists, who have called on militancy to a demonstration this Saturday to support Sánchez.
The right-wing oppositionPeople’s Party) and the extreme right (Vox) have criticized the attitude of the head of the Spanish Executive, which they describe as “victimist.” EFE (I)
