The Second Fire Company, Luis Cornejo Yáñez, located in the Rinconada de Alcones sector, in Marchigüe, held its solemn ceremony for the twenty-third anniversary of its founding, which occurred on April 25, 2001.
In the ceremony, which began with a minute of silence for the mourning that is being experienced in the country for the death of three police officers, it served to confirm by the authorities the prompt arrival of new vehicles long awaited by the institution, which benefit to the entire Marchigüe Fire Department.
Participating in the event were Mayor Cristian Salinas Herrera, Superintendent Luis Garrido Tobar, Commander Marco Muñoz Román, the director of the Second Company, Roberto Morales Pino, representatives of the Canje companies, Third Company of Conchalí-Huechuraba and First Company of Peralillo, as well as general officers, firefighters, candidates and special guests.
The third prize for perseverance was awarded, a decoration awarded to those firefighters who to date have 9 years of service in the institution. On this occasion he received this distinction, Second Lieutenant Sergio Cornejo González.
Also the fourth perseverance award, with 12 years of service, was received by the Company director, Roberto Morales Pino, and the firefighter Carlos Vidal Zúñiga.
To the people with the highest attendance at acts of service in the period 2023-2024; The distinction that seeks to reward and highlight the firefighter spirit and commitment to their community was received by: First Assistance: Tomás Guzmán Guajardo. Second Assistance: Jeannette Farías Lorca and Third Assistance: Cristian Fuentes Aravena.
