Line 2 of the Lima Metro will extend the white march until August

Line 2 of the Lima and Callao Metro will have 27 stations and will link 10 districts, from Ate to Callao. It will mobilize more than a million people a day.

The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) reports that the white march of stage 1 A of Line 2 of the Lima Metro, which includes five stations, will be extended until next August. Passengers will be able to continue traveling for free in the first underground metro in the country, in a 5-kilometer section that goes from the Mercado Santa Anita station to the Evitamiento station, in Ate.

This first stage of the train allows you to get from the Santa Anita Market to the Evitamiento station in just seven minutes, unlike the 30 minutes it currently takes to travel that route by public transportation.

Starting in September, train users must acquire cards to be able to use the rail service. These will be sold at each of the five stations that are part of this first section.

The MTC, through the General Directorate of Transportation Programs and Projects, indicates that the process of acquiring cards by the Urban Transportation Authority for Lima and Callao (ATU) is in the consent stage for granting the Good Pro, with the signing of the contract estimated for May 2024.

Once the white march is over, the subway train service will cost S/1.40 for adults, and S/ 0.70 for university students and schoolchildren.
