Multiple Arrests Made in Connection with Central Park Robberies, NYPD Increases Patrols

Police have arrested several people in connection with a series of robberies in Central Park.

According to the police, there have been 18 robberies in the park so far this year and four in one week.

So far three suspects have been arrested.

Kevin Taylor was arrested last Thursday in connection with a sex robbery.

“During that robbery a 28-year-old woman was walking, the man approached her and threatened to take her phone and he also threatened that he was going to do several things to her and touching her inappropriately,” said NYPD Deputy Communications Commissioner Carlos Nieves.

On the other hand, Moisés Fontaine was charged with grand theft for allegedly stealing a cell phone.

Israel Xavier was arrested for allegedly throwing a rock and hitting someone in the head.

As a result of these events, earlier in the week, the NYPD increased the number of officers who were monitoring the park and the surrounding areas.
