The early access launch of the realistic tactical MMO shooter Gray Zone Warfare from the Czech studio Madfinger Games was successful thanks to disappointed users of Escape from Tarkov, but the game is still far from ideal.
Gray Zone Warfare Early Access started today, April 30, on Steam. The standard edition will cost 1,200 rubles, and the upgrade to the maximum edition will cost 2,288 rubles. As the full release approaches, the price will increase.
The popularity of Gray Zone Warfare, provoked, among other things, by the scandal surrounding the similar concept of Escape from Tarkov, provided the Madfinger Games project with leadership in Steam international bestseller ranking.
In the few hours that have passed since its launch in early access, Gray Zone Warfare has reached 59 thousand concurrent players and received more than four thousand “mixed” reviews – based on them, the shooter’s rating on Steam is 50%.
Users complain about bad optimization, connection problems, game design, AI, lack of useful features, but find positive: “At least it doesn’t cost $250.”.
Let us remind you that it was $250 (11,000 rubles) that the Battlestate Games studio valued the Escape from Tarkov Unheard Edition, which outraged the community, which initially included exclusive access to the offline PvE mode with the preservation of progress.
PvE and PvPvE are available to all Gray Zone Warfare customers from the start of early access. The developers also promise realistic ballistics, modifications and crafting of weapons, an open world of 42 km² and graphics using Unreal Engine 5.
