Present at the inauguration were the president of the IPD, Guido Flores Marchan; the director of the National Directorate of Recreation and Sports Promotion (DNRPD), Carlos Garrido Calatayud; the executive director of the health monitoring and management office of the Diris Lima Este of the Minsa, Dr. Alfredo Centurión; former Olympic volleyball player Rosa García, Olympic boxer Alberto Rossel; the volleyball player Carla Rueda, and the former soccer player José Carranza.
The Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) inaugurated the recreational sports program ‘IPD Sports for All Academy 2024’, corresponding to the summer season, at the headquarters of the Santa Anita Mini Sports Complex, in this district.
“The Peruvian Sports Institute’s goal this year is to increase the number of users and improve the quality of this program, which is why we value everyone’s work so that the IPD Academy has great results. Those involved must contribute to the well-being of national sports,” added the president of the IPD, Guido Flores.
A total of 568 participants registered at the Santa Anita headquarters, who will learn the disciplines of soccer, volleyball and basketball.
In addition, the IPD Academy currently has activity in seven locations: the National Stadium, Canto Grande, Santa Anita, Carabayllo, Los Olivos, Complejo Matute (La Victoria) and the Eduardo Dibós Coliseum, with 6,345 registered.
An ambitious purpose of the IPD Academy is to detect talents that in the future can contribute to the National Sports Federations and, eventually, be part of the national team.
The ‘IPD Sport for All 2024 Academy’ aims to promote the development of motor skills, both basic and specific, in girls, boys and adolescents nationwide. Likewise, it seeks to promote the comprehensive development of capabilities and detect talents that in the future can contribute to the National Sports Federations and, eventually, be part of the national team.
