The Chillán Prosecutor’s Office received protective custody for Eduardo Arias Almendras (28), who was formalized for the crimes of storage and distribution of child pornography, after he was detained by the Sexual Crimes Investigation Group (Brisex) of the PDI, at address in the capital of the Ñuble Department.
Prosecutor Richard Urra Blanco explained that thanks to the investigative efforts of the special police and Cybercrime of the Concepción PDI, it was possible to find the defendant’s home and seize his electronic devices and re -survey, including two cell phones, . laptop and hard drive.
From the work carried out on these devices, it was established that he received and stored, on the 2 seized cell phones, a total of 263 videos and 33 images of pornography where young people appear. Moreover, these videos were distributed and disseminated by the accused.
Eduardo Arias has a conviction for sexual abuse against a girl and has another current case for the same crime in which the victim is also a girl.
The Prosecutor’s Office explained in the formal hearing that due to the nature of the formal crime, the previous conviction and the pending cases, his freedom is a threat to the security of society, which was accepted by the Killán Probate Court, which agreed to a three-month period for the investigation.
