The station building was closed for more than an hour. Due to the closure of the building, the Hlavní nádraží metro station on line C was also temporarily closed. Metro trains only passed through the station.
However, the event had no effect on rail transport and trains were not restricted in any way. As stated by the Railway Administration, only the access of passengers through the check-in hall to the platform was restricted.

The police added that passengers could only enter the platforms from the north side of the station.
After twelve o’clock, the pyrotechnician eliminated the danger and the station building was reopened. “The police pyrotechnician examined the luggage and ruled out any danger. It was a large traveling suitcase with clothes. The police officers have now reopened the entire station building,” the police added to the incident.
