On royal instructions, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government, in charge of the National Defense Administration, Abdeltif Loudyi, received, Monday at the headquarters of this Administration, in the presence of the Lieutenant General, Inspector General of the Forces Royal Armies and Commander of the Southern Zone, Admiral Rob Bauer, chairman of the Military Committee of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), visiting Morocco from April 28 to 30.
“This visit to the Kingdom is part of NATO’s efforts to strengthen its partnership with the members of the Mediterranean dialogue, with a view to collecting an assessment of the regional security situation and strengthening opportunities for cooperation with the Alliance,” indicates the National Defense Administration in a press release.
During this meeting, officials discussed different aspects of cooperation between NATO and Morocco in the areas of training and capacity building with a view to ensuring security in the Mediterranean region, adds the same source.
The NATO official welcomed the multidimensional commitment of the Kingdom, as an important actor of stability, in the face of the various challenges and issues marking regional security and its determination, under the aegis and enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI to the conduct of reform strategies and the influence of the Kingdom as a haven of stability and peace for its Euro-Mediterranean and African neighborhood, continues the Administration.
Admiral Bauer will host a conference at the Royal College of Higher Military Education in Kenitra for the benefit of military officers under the theme “NATO perspectives and strategies”, notes the press release.
