Cats are known to love getting into boxes. But for Galeana, a cat from Utah, USA, this “passion” resulted in an incredible adventure.
Galeana mysteriously disappeared from her home, with her owners searching for her for days. In the end, it turned out that he became… a stowaway and was mistakenly mailed to California, in a package that was eventually returned.
The cat was finally rescued almost a week later, after making a journey of almost 1000km, when an Amazon employee found it inside the box along with a pair of boots and took it to a vet.
As the doctor stated, the cat was in good condition even though it had been without food and water for days. Fortunately her owners had not hermetically sealed the package, nor was it exposed to extreme heat or cold.
“Galeana loves boxes,” the cat’s owner, Carrie Clark, told Utah’s KSL-TV network, explaining how her pet found herself inside the box. At the small animal clinic the vet scanned the microchip on the cat’s ID and then called the couple.
