A few days after its release, Taylor Swift’s latest album was able to break records not only in terms of streaming numbers, but also by having massive sales of nearly 2 million copies, in what music magazine Billboard called a “historic breakthrough”.
Swift has become the only artist to sell a million copies, at least in one week, through seven different albums, but the album released by the artist “Adele ” out in 2015 still outperforms Swift’s album, as its sales reached 3.4 million copies in one week, and it was ranked … The second album by the group is “ New Kids on the Block”, released in 2000, with sales reaching 2.4 million copies in one week.
Swift’s new album set the record for the most streamed debut album in history. The total number of official streams for the 31 songs on the album reached 891.37 million streams in its first week of release alone.
Speaking of these numbers, Swift thanked her fans on the “X” stage, saying: “I’m so amazed by the love you’ve shown for this album 2.6 million hail the record.”
The album “The Tortured Poets Oath” came in four different versions, each of which had a special bonus track, on CD, cassette and vinyl. Special copies of vinyl and CDs were sold to Tagit stores, as well as a limited edition disc presented by the American star on her website.
