The actor subsequently stated that Emma Stone’s real name is Emily. “Emma” is only her professional name.
The original reason Stone chose the name Emma was because another actress had “appropriated” her name. She was the first member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), so Stone had to change her professional name. Stone said it would be “pretty nice” if people started calling her by her real name.
