Salač took 14th place in qualifying, but advanced four places with a good start. The 22-year-old Czech driver held the tenth place for a long time, but in the last round he was stolen by the Thai Somkiat Čantra.
For Salač, it was still the best result in the world championship since last October’s Japanese Grand Prix, in which he was fifth. ELF Racing team member Marc VDS, who scored his first point of the year two weeks ago in Austin, is sixteenth in the World Championship standings.
“I am satisfied with the weekend,” said Salač in an interview with Nova Sport. “Jerez is a track where I have always struggled a bit. Finally, even last year, when I had a period when I did well, I was ninth here,” he said.
Aldeguer took his first win of the season 1.3 seconds ahead of Roberts, but second place was enough to move into first place in the standings. The American racer leads the standings by five points ahead of Spain’s Sergio Garcia.
