“In the 2000s – and this actually happened to me – it was considered normal to ask an actor to kiss other actors to test chemistry,” said Anne Hathaway. According to the actress, she did not like it, but she was worried because she didn’t want to be seen as “difficult”.
“They told me, ‘You’ve been accepted for the role and you have to kiss ten men.’ Aren’t you happy?” And I thought, “Is there something wrong with me? Because I wasn’t excited. I thought it was rude,” she recalls.
Anna said that no one is to blame for this situation. “No one was trying to be shocking or trying to hurt me. It was a very difficult time and now we know better what to do.”
