BEIRUT – Hezbollah group attacked several military sites Israel, including an important air monitoring center on Mount Meron, with dozens of rockets and drones on Saturday afternoon.

It was in response to a series of Israeli military airstrikes targeting southern Lebanon the previous day.

In a video circulating online, dozens of rockets hit Mount Meron, the highest peak in the Israeli territory outside the Golan Heights, on Saturday afternoon.

But, Times of Israel on Sunday (28/4/2024) reported that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that all the rockets were intercepted or fell in an open area, with no reports of damage or casualties.

The Lebanese Hezbollah group claimed responsibility for the series of rocket and drone attacks.

“It was in response to Israeli attacks on southern villages and civilian homes,” Hezbollah said in a statement today.

According to the group, they targeted the settlement of Meron and the surrounding towns with dozens of Katyusha rockets.

The paramilitary group said it also launched complex attacks using explosive drones and guided missiles on Al Manara military command headquarters and a gathering of soldiers from the 51st Golani Brigade Battalion on Saturday morning.
