The usually reliable Cars, motors and sports reports that Adrian Newey is leaving Red Bull. According to the Germans, Newey will retire after 2024 due to the ongoing power struggle within the team. While the Austrian heirs and the Thai major shareholders fight for control within the team, the brilliant car designer may find that his role within the team is becoming less and less important.

According to Cars, motors and sports Adrian Newey believes his position is no longer tenable. While in the Red BullWhile the top is fighting for control within the team, Newey is pushed further and further into the RB17 project – the construction of a super sports car based on a Formula 1 platform. However, the 65-year-old Englishman has more heart for motorsport and prefers to continue working on racing cars in the premier class.
There have been rumors for some time that Adrian Newey will leave the team. He may opt for a collaboration with after 2024 Ferrari. In Maranello they have often indicated that they want to offer the aerodynamics guru a contract.
Newey was one of the founders of Red Bull’s Formula 1 team. Since 2006 he has been co-responsible for the cars produced in Milton Keynes. His designs earned the Austrian racing team 6 constructors’ titles and 7 drivers’ titles.
