Shift Up studio has changed some of the outfits of the main character of the action game Stellar Blade in the release version of the game. Gamers on social networks and reddit drew attention to the difference between Eva’s costumes in the trailers, demo version and finished title.
Players noticed that some of Eva’s outfits in the final version of the game became a little more modest: for example, the developers reduced the neckline on the swimsuit, added white stripes in the chest and groin area in another open suit, or put tights and a jacket on the heroine that cover her legs and chest . Many gamers admit that only some outfits that are unlocked in New Game+ were subject to such censorship. At the same time, the more explicit versions of many skins remained unchanged. In addition, the developers have reduced the amount of blood that gets on the character during battle.
Gamers criticized Shift Up’s approach to Stellar Blade patches. Even before the release, the studio stated that the game would be released without any censorship in all countries, but immediately after the release it began releasing censoring patches.
Stellar Blade was released on April 26, 2024 exclusively on PlayStation 5. Previously, Sony cut out racist graffiti from the game, which was noticed by journalists in the demo version of the action.
