Days Gone: A Look Back at the Beloved PS4 Hit that Will Never Get a Sequel – Is a Film Adaptation Next?

Five years ago, an open world action game hit the market. Days away by Bend Studio. A quick look at a beloved PS4 hit that will never get a sequel. On April 26, 2019, the zombie action game was released exclusively for PS4 by Sony.

It looked like a promising blockbuster: you are racing on your motorcycle through a wonderful post-apocalyptic world in which tons of infected people are hiding. The most important thing is the huge horde battles, in which you fight hundreds of opponents at the same time. The graphics, plot, and gameplay impressed.

However, with the announcement came disappointment. The biker adventure has largely stopped due to various technical issues. The meta score was only 71 points – too low for a Sony exclusive. Therefore, Sony Bend had to introduce several updates and fix many bugs.

Looking at the user ratings, it’s clear that this is a great video game. This figure, 8.5 points, is significantly higher than the media rate. Most of the evaluations presented were positive. Fans, aside from Days Gone’s strong sales numbers, didn’t convince Sony to greenlight a sequel. This decision left Bend Studio unhappy, forcing the game’s senior developers to resign.

Be that as it may, the PC version was released in May 2021, making the game more popular. Looking at the Steam reviews, it is clear that customers were completely satisfied. Due to the popularity of the action-adventure film, dedicated fans finally started a petition that was signed by almost 225,000 people. But, this brought nothing. A film adaptation is also in the works.
