The national runner Jovana de la Cruz, qualifies for Paris 2024, beat Gladys Tejeda and Saida Meneses.
The Peruvian Sports Federation of Athletics (FDPA) awarded Jovana de la Cruz as the winner of the senior ladies 10 km category of the National Cross Country Championship, which was held on a specially designed circuit in the Huayna Cápac Zonal Park, in San Juan from Miraflores.
De la Cruz, a member of the National Marathon Program (PNM) of the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) and qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, won with a time of 36m 55s 21c, over Saida Meneses (37m 21s 93c) and Gladys Tejeda (37m 24s 94c).
While in the older men’s 10 km, the winner was Ulises Martín (31m 59s 52c), also a member of the PNM of the IPD. Walter Nina (31m 59s 53c) and Cristhian Pacheco (32m 04s 34c) completed the podium.
In the U-20 category, Luis Huamán took the victory (26m 38s 21c) in men’s 8 km, while in women’s 6 km, Luz Arias was the best (23m 35s 92c).
For his part, in the U-18, Richard Taipe (20m 35s 60c) rose to the top of the podium in the 6 km, as did Blanca Briañez (15m 49s 93c) in the 4 km.
