GOTHENBURG. Amor Layouni, 31, became BK Häcken’s derby hero.
The 31-year-old sank IFK Gothenburg with the match’s only goal.
– I absolutely believe we can challenge Malmö FF, says Layouni to Sportbladet.
BK Häcken is the best in Gothenburg at the moment.
In the first derby of the season, the guests from Hisingen won 1–0 after Amor Layouni scored the only goal of the match.
The goal came in stoppage time in the first half when Häcken countered. The winger challenged a passive Sebastian Hausner and was able to place the ball easily with his left foot.
IFK Göteborg led the match, but had difficulty creating any big chances against Andreas Linde.

Replaced and replaced
This was Blåvitt’s third loss in five Allsvenskan matches. The fence has three straight victories and kept a clean sheet
Match-winner Amor Layouni was almost invisible in the first half until the 1-0 goal in extra time.
– I didn’t really get into the game and didn’t get to touch the ball that much.
The goal then?
– It was a little better…, Layouni says with a smile.
– I only think about challenging the hill and getting to the end. Today it sat.
Hecken’s match winner celebrated the derby victory from several perspectives.
– We showed that we can shut down matches when necessary and we won on grass. We had big problems on grass last year.
Surprised that you, Häcken, can park the bus?
– It’s the first time we’ve done it in the Allsvenskan since I came to Häcken. We did it away against Aberdeen (qualifying for the Europa League) as well, says Layouni and analyzes further.
– It is needed if you want to win the Allsvenskan and go far in Europe. Then you must be able to park the bus.
Häcken’s derby winner believes that the victory establishes the newly built Häcken in the Allsvenskan top in 2024.
– It takes time with all the new things and then it is important to take victories like this, where we are at war.
Are you joining and challenging Malmö FF?
– I think we can absolutely challenge Malmö. We take steps every week. When we win games like this, which we didn’t last year, then we become dangerous.
– Malmö had a hard-fought victory against Västerås. They are not invincible, says Layouni.
Askou: Best performance
IFK Götborg coach Jens Askou saw the positives despite the loss:
– I think it is perhaps our best performance during my time at the club. But we have to create more big chances given the dominance we have. We have to get better, develop. But we have come a long way, given the challenges we have and have had.
– I think it will only get better and better during the season, says Askou.
