Consumers can request more information and coordinate a product change at no cost.
Indecopi has published a consumer alert regarding the recall of 93 bicycle seats for carrying children, known as Thule RideAlong. These Thule brand seats correspond to models 100106 – 100108 and were manufactured in Poland between March 2021 and October 2023.
This measure is due to the fact that the harness padding of the aforementioned seats contains an excess of flame retardant called DecaDBE, which exceeds regulatory limits. Excessive exposure to this retardant could be a health hazard for children.
In this regard, the company Thule AB has ordered the cessation of sales of the affected products and the replacement of the part at no cost. To receive the replacement part and installation instructions, affected consumers must register on the following website: https://help.thule.com/s/product-recall/thule-ridealong?language=es_MX.
It is worth mentioning that the Dangerous Products and Services Alert System was created with the purpose of Indecopi, in its role as National Consumer Protection Authority, to warn citizens about products or services marketed in the national market that could put them at risk, and report on the actions that have been adopted by suppliers and competent public entities.
