Atalanta and Charles De Ketelaere, assist, beat Fiorentina and join Juventus in the Italian Cup final

Charles De Ketelaere and Atalanta qualified for the Italian Cup final after their 4-1 victory over Fiorentina in the semi-final second leg on Wednesday. Virtually eliminated in the 69th minute, the Bergamo players woke up at the end of the match to qualify against a Fiorentina reduced to ten men.

Beaten 1-0 in the first leg, Gian Piero Gasperini’s players opened the scoring at the start of the match thanks to Teun Koopmeiners, who took advantage of a ball lying around in the area to give the advantage to At Dea (8e).

The teammates of CDK thought they would double the lead later but Scamacca’s goal was canceled for a foul by the Italian striker (13th). The score remained 1-0 at the break.

In the second half, Fiorentina was reduced to ten following the exclusion of Nikola Milenkovic (53rd).

Despite the numerical inferiority, the Tuscans came back to level with Atalanta thanks to a header from Lucas Martinez Quarta (69th) who took Cristiano Biraghi’s cross.

Atalanta regained the advantage a few minutes later thanks to an acrobatic recovery from Gianluca Scamacca (75th) following a header from Charles de Ketelaere.

At the very end of the match, Ademola Lookman delivered the entire Gewiss Stadium by scoring a third goal for At Dea and allowed his team to avoid overtime (95th). Mario Pasalic then confirmed the trend by scoring a final goal (98th) to set the final score at 4-1.

Charles De Ketelaere’s teammates will meet Juventus, who qualified against Lazio on Tuesday evening, in the final on May 15.
