Disciplinary investigation procedure begins against prosecutor who ordered the release of members of the criminal gang “Los Gotas del Imperio”

The National Control Authority of the Public Ministry announced the beginning of a disciplinary investigation procedure against prosecutor Albert Pinedo Muñoz for having ordered the release of 13 members of the alleged criminal organization “Los Gotas del Imperio” who had been captured by the National Police.

As recalled, the head of the Lima South Police Region, PNP General, Manuel Lozada Morales, announced a “strong blow” to a criminal organization dedicated to “drop by drop” loans in Cañete. During the intervention, firearms, cash and other elements that would incriminate them were seized.

Despite these indications, the head of the Second Investigation Office of the Second Provincial Corporate Criminal Prosecutor’s Office of Cañete of the alleged foreign criminals questioned the police procedure in the seizure of the weapons.

In that sense, personnel from the Cañete Decentralized Control Office went to the local Depincri to collect information related to the case, in addition to formally requesting a report on the actions of prosecutor Pinedo.
