The first film stars Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Jason Statham. Former action idol and current Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger has a cameo role.
Sylvester Stallone’s new project “The Expendables” (The Sacrifices), in which a whole galaxy of action celebrities play, will become a trilogy. This was announced on the set of the film by producer Avi Lerner. “We already have the plot outlines for the second and third films. We plan to create a series anyway,” says Lerner.
The plot of “The Expendables” revolves around a group of mercenaries who must overthrow the dictator in a Latin American country. The photos are in Brazil and the state of Louisiana. The very name of the film suggests that not all the characters will live to see the end. But this will probably allow Sylvester Stallone to invite to the sequels actors for whom roles were not found in the first part. It’s about Jackie Chan, Kurt Russell, Jean-Claude Van Damme.
The first film will be released on April 23, 2010.
