Kuleba spoke about additional Patriot air defense systems for Ukraine – LB.ua news

Ukraine has identified seven Patriot air defense systems that it can use to protect the population in major cities, except Kyiv.

As reported in an interview with The Guardian Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, one air defense system is from Germany. Regarding the other four, negotiations are ongoing, two more complexes are in his field of vision. In addition, the eighth installation may come from the United States.

According to media reports, Greece and Spain are considering the issue of Patriot supplies, Poland and Romania have the same systems.

Kuleba noted that the negotiations for obtaining these systems were difficult, because “the countries that operate the Patriot agree on, in particular, compensation.

  • President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, during an address to the participants of the Ukraine-NATO Council meeting on April 19, said that Ukraine needs at least seven Patriot or similar air defense systems for its defense.
  • NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced at the end of the meeting that “the Allies agreed to step up actions and provide additional military support, including air defense.”
