Pavlin Petrov is the new Deputy Minister of Tourism in the office of Minister Evtim Miloshev.
Pavlin Petrov is a representative of professionals in the industry and has many years of experience in the private sector in the field of tourism. Until now, he was the co-chairman of one of the main branch organizations in the sector – the Bulgarian Association of Restaurants.
In this capacity, he worked actively to confirm good practices and to overcome the personnel crisis in the sector, he actively participated in the dialogue to initiate public debates and legislative changes to ensure a calm and regulated business development with rules valid for all participants in the industry.
Pavlin Petrov has a master’s degree in economics and tourism at the “Dimitar A. Tsenov” Academy of Economics – Svishtov, he also has a professional qualification in law at the UNSS.
The new addition to the political cabinet of Minister Miloshev – Pavlin Petrov thanked for the trust and expressed his willingness to work to attract young people for a career in the tourism sector and make tourism a national priority of the administration, as well as to increase the quality of the tourist product .
The other deputy of Minister Miloshev, Irena Georgieva, is an experienced specialist in tourism and in the state administration as a long-time deputy minister of tourism in several official and regular offices.
Irena Georgieva graduated in sociology from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” with a gold medal for excellent success and active social activity.
In his professional path, he has almost 25 years of managerial experience in the sector as head of travel agencies.
For many years she was a member of the Management Board of the Association of Bulgarian Tour Operators and Travel Agents (ABTA), and from 2009 to 2013 she was its chairman. As a recognized international specialist in tourism, Irena Georgieva was also a member of the Board of Directors of ЕСТАА (The European Travel Agents’ and Tour Operators’ Associations).
From 2021 until 2023 Irena Georgieva is the representative of Bulgaria in the Board of Directors of the European Tourist Commission.
The head of the political cabinet of the new Minister of Tourism was the experienced lawyer Dr. Veselin Panova. She has been a member of the Rome Bar Association for over 20 years, and is also a member of the Sofia Bar Association. Dr. Panova is a Master of Laws at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, and then graduated as a Master of Laws at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
In the same year, he won a competition for full-time doctoral studies at the State University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. He obtained the educational and qualification degree of Doctor of Law.
Dr. Veselina Panova is a respected professional in her field – she was engaged in scientific and teaching activities at universities in Rome, authored scientific publications, including in Italian university textbooks, and in 2006 founded her own law firm in the Italian capital, which is establishing itself as a leading law firm specializing in civil and commercial law.
Dr. Veselina Panova has broad linguistic knowledge and interests. Works with Italian and English language. He studied various Eastern languages and cultures.
