Onepark banned from Norpark business association for violating invoice fee rules

The head of Norpark, Lars Monsen, said that Onepark had not complied with the industry’s internal rules regarding invoice fees. Therefore, the association has decided to ban the company from April 12.

– The highest rate we set was NOK 49 last May, says Monsen.

– With what we know today, only Onepark has accepted this. Exclusion is the result of not continuing the business.

In December, E24 wrote that Onepark wanted NOK 60 in invoice tax.

– It will be ten kroner plus VAT

Marketing manager at Onepark Mona Elisabeth Gladhus says they are aware of the eviction, and that the subject is “very complicated”.

– In this particular case, we believe that Norpark did not have enough legal stability in its management and therefore Onepark has chosen to get a strong legal basis on its own initiative, writes Gladhus.

She also writes that Onepark aligns with the instructions and recommendations that come from her legal advisors.

Now the company will change the fee, according to the marketing manager.

– All our facilities in Norway are now rebranded with updated and correct legal information, as well as updated information on websites and so on.

– The invoice fee will be ten kroner plus VAT, she writes.

Onepark says the change will take place continuously in each section as soon as new signs with updated information are in place.

– How does it affect you that you were thrown out of the business community?

– It affects us in the sense that we believe that the ban was taken on the wrong basis and expect that Norpark will take a new round regarding the decision. Otherwise, we also have close cooperation with the Virke business association regarding the right legal structure, so overall we are confident in our decision.

RESULTS: Onepark is no longer allowed to join the Norpark business association.

NOK 6.4

Billing fees have been the subject of criticism from consumers in recent years. E24 and other newspapers have written about requested parking companies NOK 49 and more i invoice fees for parking which has been much cheaper.

When companies at risk of a lawsuitthe paying partner has deducted the tax.

The Financial Contracts Act states that companies cannot charge more in invoice fees than they cost to produce and deliver the invoice. According to a study by Norges Bank in 2020, it cost an average of NOK 6.4 to issue and send a corporate invoice.

– It’s good that they are changing

– Should they be allowed to go back into society now?

– It is the board that decides who is allowed to participate and who is not. We have a board meeting on Monday, so we’ll see about that then. Either way, it’s good that they changed, Monsen replies.
