/ world today news/ Bulgaria celebrates today 184 years since the birth of Vasil Levski. The center of the celebrations is the hometown of the Apostle of Freedom – Karlovo.
A liturgy will be celebrated in the “St. Nicholas” church, after which those present will place wreaths and flowers at the grave of Levski’s mother, Gina Kuncheva. In the sub-Balkan city, which celebrates its holiday today, the flags of Bulgaria and Karlovo will be raised with a solemn ritual and a prayer service will be held. The participants of the national tourist hike “In the footsteps of the Apostle”, who have traveled various routes in the Stara Planina in recent days, related to the revolutionary activity of the great Bulgarian, will also be officially welcomed.
In the evening, in the “Vasil Levski” museum, the awards will be presented to the winners of the national competitions dedicated to the work of the Apostle. With military honors, the flag of the Karlov Revolutionary Committee will be brought out, after which the solemn rally-dawn will begin on “Vasil Levski” square. President Rumen Radev will accept the rank of honor of the representative companies of the 61st Stryam Mechanized Brigade and deliver a speech.
The ceremony, starting at 9 p.m., will be broadcast live by the Bulgarian National Radio.
Prime Minister Stefan Yanev will participate in the commemoration of the 184th anniversary of the birth of the Apostle of Freedom Vasil Levski, the government press service announced. He will attend the memorial service in the church “St. Sophia” in the capital.
With civil worships in front of the monuments in the courtyard of the Kakrina inn and in Lovech the memory and work of Vasil Levski will be honored on the occasion of the 184th anniversary of the Apostle’s birth.

From 18:00 in front of the monument of the Apostle in Lovech, his memory and work will be honored with a civil worship. Immediately after the solemn ritual of presenting wreaths and flowers as a sign of appreciation, a musical and poetic performance will be performed in the “Vasil Levski” Museum.
