It was known and no one had any doubt that it would happen, and tonight (Monday) it officially happened. Inter won the 20th championship in its history, and did it in the sweetest way possible, in a derby against the hated rival, Milan. The Nerazzurri beat the Rossoneri 1:2 in the 33rd round of the Italian league and increased the gap to 17 points, five rounds to the end of the season.
Inter came into the game from the first moment. Simona Izenagi’s team had a great start and dominated the opening, when in the 18th minute they also got their money’s worth and scored the first goal of the game. Francesco Aberci was the first to reach the corner kick and hit it in. The blue-black ones are crazy. The guest still tried to double before going down to the break, but without success, when Markus Toram was stopped by the crossbar and Otro Martins missed from close range.
As in the first half, the second half also started like crazy for Inter. Marcus Thuram finished off a great individual performance with a sharp kick from outside the box into Mike Manian’s corner and into the net. The blue-blacks smelled the championship approaching, until in the 80th minute Afikyo Tomori scored for Milan, instilling hope among the visiting fans and putting the host under pressure.

During the added time, a fight broke out between the players of the two teams, which lasted for many minutes. At the end, referee Andrea Colombo drew a red card for Theo Hernandez and Diesel Dumfries and sent them both off. Despite this, the spirits did not calm down, and three minutes later it was Vidida Calberia who committed a foul without the ball and was sent off as well.
Despite Milan’s pressure at the end, the result remained unchanged. Inter won 1:2 and won the Scotado, in a rather impressive season. Tsimuna Izenagi can be proud of the players who brought the club the 20th championship in its history.
