From the first time we heard about Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe for almost two years ago at Ubisoft Forward, we realized that this was going to be a very different take on the French company’s flagship franchise. Everything about it inspired gloom and fear, and it seems that development is now accelerating as a result. Indoor games has published a report with many details about the game.
First, production is underway, but it seems to be still in the early stages. The game will not reach the public by 2026 at the earliest, and it launches as a release for the Infinity platform, the next step in the connected universe of all Assassin’s Creed. We also know that Hex will not let us choose the gender of the main character, and that we are going to control a female character named (for now) Elsawho has supernatural powers, and that the plot is set in the 16th century in what is now Germany.
Another piece of news seems to be that a Fear system which is similar to what we saw in the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate expansion “Jack the Ripper”, and that it will be a much more linear adventure than the open worlds we know in the series.
Logically, there aren’t many more details at the moment. And although the source is not official, it seems that he has the sources. Regardless, and since we won’t be able to get our hands on it, there is still plenty of time for Codename Heexe to develop his abilities and be a breath of fresh air that the series needs.
