A Cuban resident of the city of Hialeah, in Miami-Dade County, would have been murdered at the end of 2022 by a man who allegedly belongs to the Sinaloa Cartel. Now, his mother is demanding justice.
“If I speak to you as a mother, I would like justice to be done, but if I put myself in the place of the mothers of the boy and the girl who killed him, it is a different feeling, because I know that their mothers are going to suffer,” said the woman. during an interview with Telemundo 51, this without revealing his identity for security reasons.
According to the aforementioned media, the victim was identified as Julio González, who was murdered due to an incident that occurred on November 29, 2022 by Jimmy Sánchez, an alleged member of the criminal organization.
The police report indicates that González always used to receive packages from his neighbors when they were not at home, an action that, while appearing solidarity, turned out to be related to a drug trafficking scheme.
According to authorities, the man received illicit substances in this way that were later moved around the city for sale on the street. However, one day he could not complete his work.
González was supposed to receive a package with 11 pounds of methamphetamines, but it was intercepted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). After this, González met with Sánchez and a woman known as Tsvia Kol at a hotel.
There, the three appear to have had an argument, and while the victim tried to call 911, he was shot several times.
Before his death, the man had posted a photo of the woman on Facebook along with a message suggesting that if something happened to him, she could be involved.
Kol was arrested by the DEA two days after González’s death, and faces federal drug trafficking charges. For her part, Sánchez is also detained, but pleaded not guilty when he was accused of the murder.
The victim’s mother indicated that he said goodbye to her and left the house on the night of her death, but that she never imagined what was going to happen.
“He came out and said goodbye to me, nothing crossed my mind. That day I thought he was going to die, when I saw that he was late, I called him and he didn’t answer me, I knew in my heart that something was not right,” he declared.
She stated that Julio was her closest son, so his loss devastated her. In that sense, she emphasized her request for justice, since he will not be able to rest unless the person who took the life of his loved one receives the punishment he deserves.
“He was an excellent son with me, very loving and special, I have two children, but he was my special son,” he concluded.
