Antonello Di Cerbo Trophy in Salerno

From 26 to 28 April 2024 it will be held, at PalaDiCerbo of Salernoan initiative of Special Olympics Italia Onlus Team Campaniacalled “Antonello Di Cerbo Trophy”, dedicated to artistic and rhythmic gymnastics for Special Olympics athletes. The event, in memory of Antonello di Cerbo, first Regional Director of Special Olympics Team Campania, wants to propose the culture of unified sport in providing experiences of absolute “inclusion” and was also born with the intention of creating a hub in the south dedicated to artistic and rhythmic gymnastics for Special Olympics athletes, just as events dedicated to Zita Peratti.

Il “making of”

The realization of this event is curated by Team Campania of Special Olympics directed by Salvatore Taurino in synergy with theScope S05 Of Salerno and with the collaboration of ASD Gymnastics Salerno he was born in Municipality of Salerno – Department of Social and Youth Policies.

The participants

The event will see the participation of 115 athleteswith and without intellectual disabilities, coming from all over Italy and also from Swiss. The opening ceremony, which will be held on April 26 at 18:00will be introduced by the parade of all the participating teams and the procession with the Olympic torch carried by Special Olympics athletes, accompanied by the Olympic champion Salvatore Amitrano. After lighting the tripod at the Maritime Station (Manfredi pier)the ceremony will continue with the interventions of the authorities present.

The event takes advantage of the precious availability of Prefecture and of Preccint of Salerno, of Southern Operational Forces Command and of Salerno Maritime Station.
