The comparison
The meeting with the kids from the Genovesi Technical Institute was much appreciated and stimulating. Important issues were discussed, putting young people, the future and the social commitment of the participants at the centre, so as not to make the younger generations abandon their lands of origin. We also spoke about the importance of perseverance and determination in pursuing one’s goals, even when the challenges seem insurmountable, underlining the importance of believing in oneself and one’s abilities, and not letting difficulties discourage oneself. The topic of meritocracy was also addressed, underlining that success should be determined by one’s abilities and commitment, not by external factors such as family or social background.
The interventions
The meeting discussed the future and the opportunities that could open up for young people, encouraging them to follow their passions and try to make their dreams come true even in their homeland, avoiding leaving without returning. Finally, the Director of Bcc Monte Pruno Michele Albanese underlined the importance of social commitment and the desire to contribute to the well-being of society. “We must encourage children to be active and responsible citizens, ready to put their energies at the service of others. Today was a fruitful meeting and I am confident that the children of the Genovesi Technical Institute will continue to cultivate the values of commitment, determination and solidarity in their daily lives.”. Four young boys who entered the “La Restanza” project also spoke with their entrepreneurial stories born in the territory of Province of Salerno and made known in the articles in Il Mattino by Antonio Corbisiero.
