The Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, Mohcine Jazouli, launched Roadshow activities in Germany on Monday in Berlin, beginning a series of meetings with German officials and economic actors.

At the start of the morning, Mr. Jazouli, leading a Moroccan delegation composed of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Federal Republic in Germany, Zohour Alaoui, the Director General of the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Investments and Exports (AMDIE ), Ali Seddiki, the Director General of Investment and Business Climate at the Ministry, Ghali Skalli, and the Director of Investment, Hicham Chaoudri, paid a visit to the new Siemens Energy electrolyzer factory.

A pioneer on a global scale in the use of modern robots and digitalization for highly automated production, this new factory, where the Moroccan delegation was welcomed by the member of the Executive Committee, Anne-Laure de Chammard, and the Vice -Senior President for Africa and the Middle East, Dietmar Siersdorfer, plays a crucial role in the production of green hydrogen, a key part of the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Subsequently, the minister spoke with the director for Germany of the aeronautical and automobile manufacturer Rolls Royce, Stephanie Willmann, before meeting the deputy of Bavaria and president of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce, Peter Ramsauer, as well as its general director, Abdelaziz Mekhlafi.

On this occasion, Mr. Nothangel underlined the “capital” importance of establishing solid links with reliable friends and partners, particularly in the current context of economic difficulties.

“This is why Morocco’s initiative to seek investment opportunities in Germany is very appreciated,” he said, noting that German companies are particularly attentive to “Morocco’s Offer” for development. of the green hydrogen sector with a view to considering investments.

“In the future, it is essential to continue exchanges and discussions on business opportunities. This involves Moroccan delegations going to Germany, and German companies visiting Morocco to discover first-hand the possibilities the country offers. These exchanges are crucial to deepen mutual understanding and explore avenues of collaboration that will benefit both parties,” said Mr. Nothangel.

The work of this first day of the Roadshow, which continues until next Thursday, ended with a meeting with Bärbel Kofler, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

During his various meetings, the minister addressed key subjects such as German-Moroccan economic relations, investments and hydrogen, highlighting the importance of the Morocco Offer for the future of energy supply and cooperation between the two countries.

Thus, Ms. Kofler expressed her satisfaction with the visit of the Moroccan delegation, before noting the importance of exchanges with the Kingdom on crucial subjects for sustainable development, such as renewable energies, green hydrogen and mobility. electricity, as well as investment in infrastructure.

“This meeting made it possible to explore these themes and generate ideas for closer collaboration between Germany and Morocco,” she added.

Ms. Kofler said she was reassured, through these important exchanges for the future of relations between Morocco and Germany, with regard to the possibility of jointly implementing the concrete ideas emanating from bilateral activities, thus promoting a effective cooperation on the ground.

The German official also thanked the participants in this work for their commitment to these fundamental discussions, which demonstrates their determination to continue efforts in favor of sustainable development and international cooperation.

For his part, Mr. Jazouli indicated that this German Roadshow, which will stop in Berlin, Wolfsburg, Hannover and Munich, aims to meet government officials and businesses to present the “Morocco Offer” as a travel destination. privileged investment, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.

In this sense, he underlined the dimension of this initiative to attract international investors and raise the level of partnership between the two countries which, particularly in the sectors of electric mobility and hydrogen, noting that leading German companies in these areas reacted positively to the opportunities offered by Morocco and expressed a keen interest in the sectors of the future proposed by Morocco and envisage close collaboration.

“They reflect a real desire for partnership to jointly invest in these promising areas. The relationship between Morocco and Germany is characterized by a mutual commitment to explore and seize investment opportunities, thus demonstrating a desire for fruitful cooperation in economic and technological development,” maintained Mr. Jazouli.

During the meetings which marked the first day of the Roadshow, the minister highlighted the observation that the level of investment by German operators is not aligned with the potential for cooperation between the two nations. He strongly underlined the importance of improving this situation to stimulate economic relations through more bilateral partnerships.

After Spain at the end of January, the 2024 tour to promote the Morocco destination to foreign investors and clients continues in Germany as part of a Roadshow from April 22 to 25.

Organized by AMDIE, in partnership with the Moroccan Embassy in Germany, this Roadshow takes place in a particular context marked by the launch of the “Morocco Offer”, and the concretization of several strategic investment agreements in the sector of electric batteries aimed at the emergence of a national green automotive ecosystem, which could be consolidated with leading German operators.

The tour thus includes meetings with German decision-makers, investors and institutions, visits to industrial sites, participation in the famous Hanover Fair, a major event where Morocco will exhibit its assets and investment opportunities in the professions of the future, in addition to a “Morocco Now” conference in Munich on April 24, organized under the theme “Creating synergies for sustainable partnerships”.
