According to the court, the accused and the man who was killed had been close friends for a long time and both had dealt in drugs. There may have been disputes over drug deals before the crime. On the day of the crime, the defendant apparently apologized to the victim later on the phone so he could meet him.

He then called the 26-year-old again and told him he was at a park bench in front of the apartment where the victim lived with his girlfriend. Both then came out of the apartment unarmed. The accused approached his former friend and shot the 26-year-old six times with a revolver with the intention of killing him. Before the crime, the 20-year-old had threatened a witness to prevent him from warning the victim in the future. The man who shot the shots died a short time later in hospital.

The accused was under the influence of cocaine, cannabis and the sedative Lyrica at the time of the crime. Nevertheless, the criminal chamber found him fully responsible. She credited the 20-year-old for turning herself in to police four days after the crime and admitting to the shooting at the start of the trial. The court considered the intended and brutal act in which he fired the entire barrel of the revolver in front of the victim’s friends to make his punishment more severe. The judgment is not final.
