Suicide attack on Chinese convoy, vehicle was not bomb-proof, forensic report

The security lapses revealed in the investigation report regarding the attack on the convoy of Chinese engineers, Director Security Daso Hydro Project and Commandant Special Security Unit are responsible for the security lapses. Reports
Web Desk: The report of the investigation committee regarding the suicide attack on the Chinese engineers convoy was released.
According to the forensic report of the Punjab Forensic Science Agency, the vehicle of the Chinese engineers was bulletproof and not bombproof, although it should have been bomb and bulletproof.
On the other hand, the CTD Khyber Pakhtunkhwa report states that the vehicle of the Chinese engineers was not bulletproof. Now the matter will be cleared in the JIT report.
According to the investigation report, the vehicle was supposed to be bulletproof and bombproof as per the SOPs, which was not.
Apart from this, the report also states that the movement of the convoy was reported a day earlier on March 25 through conventional mail, although it should have been reported 7 days earlier.
According to sources, Director Security Dasu Hydropower Project had merely informed DPO Upper Kohistan about the convoy on March 24 on WhatsApp. NHA and Motorways Police and other DPOs were not informed.
After that DPO Upper Kohistan also informed only DPO Lower Kohistan.
In the report, regarding the security of the convoy, it is mentioned that the security of foreigners is led by the Special Security Unit. WAPDA provided security through its security guards, FC and Gilgit Scouts.
Regarding security costs, the report states that a percentage of the project cost has to be allocated for security. WAPDA did not contract with Special Security Unit for security. There was non-cooperation between WAPDA and SSU in the matter of allocation of funds.
The report stated that Director Security Dasu Hydro Project and Commandant Special Security Unit are responsible for the security lapses.
