Dortmund
Sven Mislintat, the former director of football affairs at Ajax, is returning to work at Borussia Dortmund. The 51-year-old German will take on a technical role in the team’s planning, the club reports. Borussia also announced that former player Lars Ricken will become the new sports director.
Mislintat was dismissed as director of football affairs at Ajax in September last year after four months. The German also became controversial about possible conflicts of interest in transfers, but KPMG Forensic found no indications of this in an independent investigation. Mislintat had worked for Dortmund for several years in the past.
The 47-year-old Ricken, who scored a goal in the 1997 Champions League final won by Dortmund, takes over some of the duties of general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke as director. He will work together with technical director Sebastian Kehl. Until recently he was director of Borussia’s training center.
