From 29 April to 4 May, fewer trains will be running at and around Central Station due to track and bridge work by ProRail. There is no train traffic between CS and Bijlmer Arena during the May holidays. “Passengers should take into account additional transfers and longer travel time,” the NS said.
Due to the work, there are far fewer routes available, which means that fewer trains can be used. For example, ProRail is working on the development of the track at CS, Muiderpoort and Amstel, among others. According to the NS, this has a major impact on the timetable to, from and through Central Station.
“NS advises passengers to use detours, travel by alternative public transport or put new buses on trains.” The timetable will be different each day during the May holidays so additional service personnel present at various stations to guide passengers.

The work from May 1 to 4 also affects metro travel. “This has been taken into account in the revised NS timetable,” the railway company said. Passengers heading to Schiphol Airport are advised to allow more time for their journey, due to overcrowding on the trains.
The NS advises travelers to check the itinerary each day before departure for the latest travel advice.
