Mexico City. Felipe Fuentes, magistrate of the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) highlighted the Brazil case and the short time in which they managed to apply electronic voting, with a high level of reliability.
“I was amazed to know that the election closed at 5 in the afternoon and the absolute, reliable, definitive and official result was given almost at 7,” he commented during the presentation of the book Right of Association and Democracy, at the event. Mexico-Brazil international.
The truth is, he expressed, my respects for the Brazilian courts that are advanced in resolving matters and the way of communicating them.
He stressed that in that South American nation they went from pilot tests to full implementation in a period of no more than nine years, but not only that, but with a high level of reliability in the institutions, since it was concluded that it is not possible to hack the system, despite the number of voters and the size of its territory, much higher than Mexico.
He also spoke about the synergy between two areas: electoral and labor, to build better democracies.
He explained that the link between both issues has to do with the right of association and freedom of association, that is, the binomial of freedom of association and democracy.
