“After thirty years together full of ups, downs and unforgettable experiences, Monika and I have decided that our paths are now parting ways. As parents of two wonderful adult children, we most wish to preserve family harmony,” Babiš wrote. “Our family ties remain strong, and even as our personal paths change, our love and respect for each other and our children remains the same,” he added.

Babiš married his long-time partner Monika, who had already used the last name Babišová for a long time, in July 2017 at Čapí hnízda. The open-air wedding was attended by 200 guests.

She accompanied Babišová on some business trips. She visited, for example, the United States, Israel and France with him. She supported her husband during his presidential candidacy last year, but the police also dealt with the fact that she received a threatening letter with a bullet. The police clarified the case, they dismissed the matter qualified as a dangerous threat because the suspect died. According to the police, the bullet was not sharp.

According to Forbes magazine, the former prime minister’s assets amount to 3.5 billion dollars (82 billion crowns), making him the seventh richest Czech. In an international comparison, Babiš fell by 241 places year-on-year to 920th place this year after a drop in the value of assets by 600 million dollars. The head of the ANO opposition movement receives income from the Agrofert concern, which he previously owned directly, through trust funds.
