ASRock Unveils New Gamer Monitors with Built-in Wi-Fi Antenna

ASRock’s offer has been expanded with two new products, both of which are a gamer monitors section focused. In terms of basics, we get the same thing in both cases: a 27-inch IPS panel with a native resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, which can achieve a maximum refresh rate of 180 Hz. The range of connectors is the same, but there is an additional interesting feature that can only be found for the PG27QFT2A model, which is missing from the PG27QFT1B: the first one has a built-in Wi-Fi antenna.

Based on the manufacturer’s description, a built-in Wi-Fi antenna is placed in the upper part of the PG27QFTA2 stand, which is connected to solutions with a 2T2R system Wi-Fi controller through two cables. According to ASRock, the built-in antenna is fully compatible with existing Wi-Fi standards, i.e. it can be used with Wi-Fi 4, Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E, and even it. they can also work perfectly with standard Wi-Fi 7 controllers. In addition to the 7 dBi gain antenna, the necessary cables are also included, so that the set can be used without any problems with Wi-Fi controllers Fi with separate antenna connection.

In addition, the two new gamer monitors offer the same thing, in terms of the display. The 1440p IPS panel can achieve a brightness of 400 nits and has a standard contrast ratio of 1000:1, while its viewing angles are, as usual, 178 degrees. The panel has a response time of 1 millisecond MPRT and 5 millisecond GtG that is able to display 1.07 billion shades of color, and in terms of color fidelity, we can expect it to cover 99% of the sRGB color space and 90 % of the DCI-P3 color space. The maximum refresh rate of 180 Hz is accompanied by AMD FreeSync support, which is available in the frequency range between 48 Hz and 180 Hz.

Among the video inputs, there are two HDMI 2.0 connections and one DisplayPort 1.4, but of these, the highest image refresh rate can only be reached through the DisplayPort input, with HDMI ports up to 144 Hz. In addition to the above, we also get a headphone output and two built-in 2 W speakers.

For the PG27QFT2A model, the stand, which also includes a Wi-Fi antenna, allows the display to be tilted (-5 / + 20 degrees), rotated (+/- 20 degree), and its height can be adjusted (0- 100 mm). There is also VESA support, so the 5.45 kilogram display can be used flexible arm or bracket can also be installed. As for the other model, ie the PG27QFT1B, we only get a simple stand, which does not have a Wi-Fi antenna and only supports adjusting the display (-5/+20 degrees), but VESA 100 support is also available. here, so the 5 .35 kilogram display can also be installed in this case flexible arm or wall bracket.

The manufacturer did not provide any information about the expected price for the new monitors, but the model equipped with a Wi-Fi antenna has already appeared here and there, so it turned out to it was available at a price of around $ 250. The version without Wi-Fi antenna, which will be sold with a low stand, will definitely be cheaper than this one.
