Perfection in the technique for the execution of each movement, unprecedented routines with synchronization, dance and art will be mixed in the Aquatic Center of the VIDENA Legado headquarters, to give life to the Lima 2024 Junior Artistic Swimming World Cup, to take place from August 28 to September 1.
There will be almost 400 athletes, both men and women, from 35 countries, who will participate. Athletes with experience in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will stand out and Peru will be represented in the women’s category by the team led by strategist Maura Xavier.
“History will be made, again, in this Aquatic Center. I call on the federations to continue working, impacting lives in society. Legado has a team that works for our sport. The effort and the organizers are the federations. The scenarios cannot detract from the efforts of the athletes,” said Carlos Zegarra Presser, executive director of the Special Legacy Project, at a press conference.
PUBLIC IN THE TRIBUNES
Without a doubt, the public will be able to be part of the sports festival, cheering from the stands of the modern Legado Aquatic Center, inaugurated for the Lima 2029 Games and which will also host competitions at the Lima 2027 Pan American and Parapan American Games. Ticket sales will be announced on the social networks of the Peruvian Swimming Sports Federation (FDPN) and the Special Legacy Project.
Once again, World Aquatics gives its trust to Peru to organize an event of global significance, having first-class infrastructure such as the Legado Aquatic Center, with the capacity to receive 4 thousand spectators and which has a swimming pool of competitions and another warm-up.
“We take advantage of the good infrastructure left by the Lima 2019 Games, which has allowed us to host championships of this level. Swimming is not a popular sport, but we try to spread it to the masses, we make a huge effort in the province and we look for the best talents,” said the president of the Peruvian Swimming Federation, Nikola Ustavdich.
The Legado Videna Aquatic Center is one of the main sports venues that the city of Lima offers for national and international competitions. Large events have been held here, highlighting the 2023 Pan American Junior High Diving Championship, South American Junior Aquatic Sports Championship, the World Water Polo League, among others. For this reason, the International Swimming Federation (FINA) has recognized it as one of the best in the world, thanks to its advanced technology and special maintenance that it has received since its construction.
