Cyprus: Anger for Bakoyannis – They consider that she opened the way for the pseudo-state – 2024-04-21 00:35:33

Harsh article in Phileleftheros, which is a more moderate national newspaper

Kolafos against Dora Bakoyannis is an article of the Cypriot newspaper Liberalwhich refers to the major diplomatic issue that arose with Serbia and the harsh confrontation of the country’s president, Aleksandar Vucic, with the Greek politician, on the occasion of her proposal, which was approved by a majority, for the inclusion of Kosovo in the Council of Europe (CoE) .

As reported by Phileleftheros of Cyprus in an online article, Mr. Vucsits revealed that he knows about the phone call made to Bakoyannis so that she would change her stance on the issue, renouncing the conditions that she herself had set. He may not have named who made the phone call, but it is known that the pressure for this development has been exerted for a long time by Americans and NATO members, as Phileleftheros points out.

The question is why, in an area characterized as the powder keg of the Balkans with Serbs and Kosovars involved, a Greek hand mixed the coals and rekindled them, blowing the ashes to one side, the Cypriot newspaper reports.

Serba Biliana Padic, president of the Serbian Parliament, did not mince her words against Bakoyannis: “You will go down in history as someone who in the most brutal way violated all the rules of international law and the principles on which this organization was founded. You have proven that you lack integrity, provoke and be a hypocrite… We may be a small country but unlike you we have integrity and we are never going to surrender and bow down.”

Cyprus is threatened

The Cypriot newspaper also refers to the effects that this development may have on the Cypriot case, emphasizing the following, among others:

“It is sad because with this resurgence of the coals, Cyprus is now seriously threatened to burn as well, which has the same name and the same language… It is tragic because for half a century, the vast majority of the inhabitants of this ill-fated island are struggling to forget that tragic Karamanli saying “Cyprus lies far away…”.

For half a century we have been trying to convince ourselves that it was just an unfortunate phrase or even a sad choice of moment. That it does not reflect the real attitude of Athens for any similar critical moment our small but beloved homeland may find itself in. We have always separated and will continue to separate Athens, where we mean political power, from Greece, where we mean the broad concept of the nation and the Greeks. As always, a passage through the Tomb of the Makedonitissa is enough to clarify these different concepts in our mind and soul”.

The article in Phileleftheros

“Shame on you” miserable Dora Bakoyannis!

“I know very well who gave the order to abandon your principles. Same on you”. Kolafos for the unexplained Dora Bakoyannis by the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, for her proposal, which was approved by a majority, for the inclusion of Kosovo in the Council of Europe (CoE). A decision, which can only be considered as a backstab against Cyprus, since the pseudo-state also holds the same observer status in the CoE.

Therefore, from the moment, through the suggestion of the inexplicable Dora, the door was opened for the inclusion of a seceded pseudo-kingdom, the other pseudo-kingdom will inevitably attempt to follow a similar path with all that this implies for the Republic of Cyprus. And for… beyond Bakoyannis and Mitsotakis Greece.

Mr. Vucits (sanctify the man’s mouth) shouted at the uncharacteristic sister of the Prime Minister of Greece what from the first moment, most of us (except those who have the same mind with her, mindless in fact) felt the need to shout. But he went one step further. He revealed that he is aware of the phone call made to Bakoyannis so that she would change her position on the matter, renouncing the conditions that she herself had set. He may not have named who made the call but it is known that the pressure for the disastrous development has long been exerted by the Americans and NATO.

It is sad because, in an area characterized as a Balkan powder store with the Serbs and Kosovars involved, a Greek hand came to stir the coals and rekindle them, blowing the ashes to one side. The one with which Athens was supposed to maintain a cooperation front.

It is sad because with this resurgence of the coals, Cyprus is now seriously threatened to burn as well, which has the same name and the same language… It is tragic because for half a century, the vast majority of the inhabitants of this ill-fated island are struggling to forget that tragic Karamanli saying “Cyprus lies far away…”.

As always, a passage through the Tomb of the Macedonian Woman is enough to clarify these different concepts in our mind and soul.

From the moment the result of the vote in the Parliamentary Assembly of the CoE became known, the anger due to the shameful behavior of Bakoyannis peaks due to the multiple hypocrisy recorded. Official Athens playing hide and seek. Tsipras and Papandreou who observed… abstinence! The official Nicosia, which – not having a choice – whispers like the dying person who is being led to the gallows. The one who once shouted about the fraternal ties with the New Republic of Pindar, who chews her words resulting in incomprehensible sounds. All of them so small. So few!

We keep the words of the Serbian Biljana Padic to the untold Dora in the KSSE: “You will go down in history as someone who in the most brutal way violated all the rules of international law and the principles on which this organization was founded. You have proven that you lack integrity, provoke and be a hypocrite… We may be a small country but unlike you we have integrity and we are never going to surrender and bow down.” We keep the huge “Shame on you” of Mr. Vucits towards Bakoyannis.

And we dedicate the lyrics of the enormous Passiardi – a good friend reminded me of them yesterday – to poor Dora: “We are Greeks/ It’s not the first time you’ve sold us/ You’ve done it before, years ago, in other centuries, when you sold us out to the Persians/ And yet we lived. And we endured slavery and race, we brought them to the right with the waterspout and the grasshopper/ We are Greeks. We don’t care about anything/ Now you poured our blood on the Turks, richly watered the earth and heavily chained Pentadactylos/ We are Greeks. We don’t want anything, nothing from Athens/ We are Greeks, Greeks of bitter weather and Despair”.
