Armand Duplantis has proven once again that he is an insane phenomenon. At the Diamond League meeting in Xiamen in China, the first of the season, he broke his own world record by one centimeter. The peak is now at 6.24am.
Talk about an entrance! Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis immediately performed well at the first Diamond League of the season.
The Swede cleared 6.24m with his first attempt in Xiamen and thus broke his own world record in the pole vault. This is the eighth time he has set a world record to his name.
His previous record was 6.23m, one centimeter less. He established this in Eugene last September.
The world star is off to a great start to the Olympic season. His training friend and comrade Ben Broeders finished in 6th place, he only cleared 5.42m.
