El Salvador, host of the Pan American Archery Championships – 2024-04-20 16:15:38

El Salvador will host the Pan American Youth and Masters Archery Championship, confirmed the Salvadoran Archery Federation (FESTA) and the National Sports Institute of El Salvador (INDES), where 20 countries and an approximate 260 athletes. The sporting event will function as the first qualifier for the Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games.

According to INDES, the event means the return of a competition endorsed by the Pan American Archery Confederation, after 12 years of the last Pan American that took place in El Salvador.

The contest will take place from May 6 to 12 at the “Jorge Menéndez” shooting range, in the Merliot sports center, and will grant places to the under-21 category for the 2025 Junior Pan American Games, which will take place in Asuncion, Paraguay.

“This event has achieved the call of a very good number of countries, to date 20 have registered and two are still pending to do so, this adds up to approximately 260 archers. We are excited to have such a great event, taking into account that the last one was in 2012”, with those words the technical manager of FESTA, Roberto Hernández, highlighted the importance of the competition for the athletes who will represent the country.

According to the manager, strong countries in the matter will participate, such as: the United States, Mexico, Canada and Colombia.

El Salvador will have the participation of Jennifer Gómez in the individual modality, in the compound modality. The curved bow team is made up of Kathia Ramos, Ana Palomeres and Jimena Vigil.

The places that will be in dispute will be three pairs, plus four individuals in recurve bow, with 10 athletes per category. While in compounds, there will be three mixed and two individual with five archers per category.
